Here's two odd experiences I had this week, For years Dad and I rarely miss attending church in our ward. Since Dad has been released as bishop, we teach Seminary and neither of us has a Sunday calling, so we've been more likely to visit family from time to time. We traveled to Utah in November for Grandpa Sweet's 80th Birthday Celebration, and we've been gone the past two weeks spending Christmas with Amy and Trevor in Provo and New Years with Grandma and Grandpa Boe in Oregon. So here's my first story; On Saturday Dad and I went on our date to the Temple, halfway there I realized I didn't have my recommend, we decided not to turn back but to proceed forward, hoping I could still serve. As we walked into the foyer of the Temple I spotted a Temple worker from our ward. I knew she couldn't vouch for me but I was happy to see her and still hoped she could validate me. I called to her and said "Hi" and she responded, "I haven't...
Savannah and Anastasia Savannah and her best friend Anastasia helping at Sam C's eagle project Dad and Grandpa Install our Hot Tub Yeaaaaaaa! I really fixed our hot tub this time! It's working again! Ok, so what happened the last time I "fixed" it you ask? Well, my Dad and I just installed it and the wiring needed some "cleaning up" shall we say. This way the wiring remains dry during rain storms. Well what do you think happens when a color blind person does electrical wiring? You guessed it! I crossed the hot and the ground which burned out the control board and one half of the pump motor. After calling in a pro fessional to assess and repair the wonderfully warm bubbling water machine he first laughed at me when I told him the story exclaiming "I love people like you!" and then identified the components I needed to replace to fix it and save about $1800 dollars. What a guy! I ordered the parts and just completed the re...
Grandma Boe wrote down stories of family members on your family tree. She will send stories of Great Grandma and Grandpa Boe soon. I will also work with Dad and Grandpa Sweet to put together stories for his side of the family. Print these out and share them with the people you teach when you talk about family history. We love you, Love, Mom ARNOLD NORMAN BOE in his words, as told to Amy Boe While serving on the labor mission in Laie Hawaii we experienced many miracles. One of those is as follows. On the mission we helped build BYU Hawaii, the Polynesian Cultural Center, many chapels and we were assigned to work on the Laie Temple. We always started each work day with prayer. The project was to add air conditioning to the temple. In order to do this we had to dig through tough coral rock in back and underneath the temple. It was slow and difficult because we had to tunnel under the temple, chip out the rock and remove the chips of rock. On one Saturday morning the work...
