Where Have You Been?

Here's two odd experiences I had this week,  For years Dad and I rarely miss attending church in our ward.  Since Dad has been released as bishop, we teach Seminary and neither of us has a Sunday calling, so we've been more likely to visit family from time to time.  We traveled to Utah in November for Grandpa Sweet's 80th Birthday Celebration, and we've been gone the past two weeks spending Christmas with Amy and Trevor in Provo and New Years with Grandma and Grandpa Boe in Oregon.  So here's my first story; On Saturday Dad and I went on our date to the Temple, halfway there I realized I didn't have my recommend, we decided not to turn back but to proceed forward, hoping I could still serve.  As we walked into the foyer of the Temple I spotted a Temple worker from our ward.   I knew she couldn't vouch for me but I was happy to see her and still hoped she could validate me.   I called to her and said "Hi"  and she responded, "I haven't

Four Family History Stories From Grandma Boe

Grandma Boe wrote down stories of family members on your family tree. She will send stories of Great Grandma and Grandpa Boe soon. I will also work with Dad and Grandpa Sweet to put together stories for his side of the family. Print these out and share them with the people you teach when you talk about family history. We love you, Love, Mom ARNOLD NORMAN BOE in his words, as told to Amy Boe While serving on the labor mission in Laie Hawaii we experienced many miracles. One of those is as follows. On the mission we helped build BYU Hawaii, the Polynesian Cultural Center, many chapels and we were assigned to work on the Laie Temple. We always started each work day with prayer. The project was to add air conditioning to the temple. In order to do this we had to dig through tough coral rock in back and underneath the temple. It was slow and difficult because we had to tunnel under the temple, chip out the rock and remove the chips of rock. On one Saturday morning the work

Amy and Trevor's for Easter! Easter with Amy and Trevor 2015 From Left to Right Trevor, Savannah, Bob, Amy, Tamara, J. Landon. We had a great visit with Amy and Trevor I’m at Aunt Lisa’s helping her recover from her surgery.     She has limited use of her arms and will need to have therapy to regain full use of them again.    She’s doing well otherwise.    I’ve been here since Monday and will probably be here part of another week. I think Tiko and Alejandra will be coming back to Oxnard on Monday.    They’ve been in Utah visiting a former bishop from Paraguay.    Landon starts BYUI in September.     Savannah and the Choir did well in Seattle .     Every one won Gold One except the Chamber Choir won Second Gold.   They also won Sweepstakes and other awards!   The Bus Company forgot to pick up Savannah’s group so she waited longer for her bus to bring them home from the airport.   Instead of getting home at 9:30 it was 11:30.   By the time we got her home and in

February 2015 They're out. I'm sleepy...  Amy sent us this picture after her wisdom teeth were pulled  on Thursday.  She diligently kept ice on it and has had little swelling.  Today is Sunday and I think she's feeling the pain.  We hope you feel better soon Amy!  We love you! Wish I was there to take care of you!  This picture scared me at first, I was glad to learn it was your wisdom teeth and not that one of my children had been  kidnapped and gagged.       Yesterday we did baptisms with the youth from our ward and stake.  Savannah and I found four more family names to take with us.  It's always a nice experience when we get to go together with Bob too. Brother Myron Stout spoke to our youth tonight during our wards Standards Night.  Savannah sang a solo, Come Follow Me verses 1 and 4.  She did a great job and I played the piano for her.  Savannah has a terrific voice.  It was a great fireside on our standards and how to respond to the world as we stand as a
